Mentor Program

Salesforce announced this week that they are discontinuing their mentorship program. I have been a co-mentor with their Mentorship Circle program these past few months. We just finished up the 5-week program with a group of 9 mentees. We had a decent turnout for the meetings. Not all mentees showed up for them though, but we had a steady 4-5 people attend. The materials Salesforce provided to assist with this endeavor was lacking in substance. I supplemented their materials with additional links & tips to provide our mentees with something worthwhile. I hope they felt it was a worthwhile experience especially since there won't be another one due to discontinuation.

While I am disheartened that Salesforce discontinued the program, I am hopeful to see what they will decide to do in replacing it. Most likely they will announce something new at Dreamforce, their annual conference coming up in two weeks. I enjoyed sharing my knowledge about Salesforce to others. Since I'm unable to continue mentoring with Salesforce official mentor program, I am uncertain what to pursue next for improving my coaching skills. I've started to explore other options such as SuperMums, so more to come soon!
