Another Cert Bites the Dust
I've been studying off-and-on since February for Salesforce's Sales Cloud Consultant certification. I am hesitant in taking exams as one can always spend more time studying for them. I also don't like failing a Salesforce exam if I can help it. The exam costs $200 out-of-pocket with retakes costing $100. I make sure I am completely prepared prior to scheduling an exam. I do not believe in speed test taking Salesforce certification exams nor collecting certifications to be in competion with others. We each have our own life journey & travel the path that is meant for us.
I take a Salesforce exam to validate my Salesforce experience. Getting a certification doesn't make you an expert on all things, it means you took the time & effort to learn the topic. You have the baseline knowledge the certification provides to continue expanding your skills.
I took my Sales Cloud exam today & passed with an 80%. I am super excited by that score as needed a 68% to pass! I did better than I had hoped too. When I was practicing with the Focus on Force practice exams, I was scoring an average of 63% on them, so was anxious about taking the exam. I am relieved that the Focus on Force exams weren't a true representation of my score & did better on the true exam.
Sales Cloud puts my Salesforce certification count up to SIX certifications now. I have the "core" Salesforce certifications, so plan to take a break from pursuing anymore Salesforce certifications for a while. I would like to explore different aspects of Salesforce outside of the certification tracks such as DevOps, Copado & Tableau. I might pursue the PD1 (Developer) track next, but that won't be until 2024 at the earliest.
Always be learning!
