What's super about Superbadges?

Superbadges are large real-world inspired projects in Salesforce Trailhead educational program. They are a way to showcase your Salesforce skills outside the modules & projects Trailhead has. Superbadges are considered credentials, so have similar qualifications & standards as a Salesforce certification does.

As of August 2023, I have completed 53 superbadges. I enjoy completing superbadges & like the challenges they provide. The requirements given are usually very vague & not named as the Salesforce application is listed, so can take some time to understand what is being asked for. The error messages when trying to validate your superbadge work can be frustrating at times. The errors can be unclear with very limited help available. Superbadges aren't items that can be posted in online channels to receive help from others as it invalidates the rules of the superbadge credential. Salesforce takes those rules seriously & can revoke all your work in Trailhead (including all certifications) if go against those standards.

Since Salesforce has such high standards for their superbadges, they have an extensive testing program that validates when new superbadges are released. Back in June, I had signed up to be considered part of this testing program as a Superbadge SME. I was accepted in July & started assisting with their latest superbadge releases for the Data Quality Specialist superbadge. I was able to participate in testing out the new Data Validation Superbadge Unit module. It was a very interesting experience to see how Salesforce verifies the content in their superbadges to uphold the upmost certification standards. I got to meet & work with new Salesforce trailblazers that I hadn't had the opportunity to do so before.

I really enjoyed the experience & hope I'll be able to assist in future superbadges and/or certifications.
